Milkies Milk Saver was the best $30 I could have spent for those first few weeks. It allowed me to collect several extra ounces per day. My husband could take over a feeding or two at night and let me rest. It was a life saver and helped me feel sane again.

One thing that might be nice (but pricey) is a maternity photo shoot with a professional photographer. It is something I probably wouldn't spend on myself, but would always be something I would remember.

I am just in the get me out of the 1st trimester phase - when am I going to get energy??? You can't do massages and such in the first tri so a pre-natal massage sounds really really good to me right now for 2nd tri territory. Your friend will love that you thought of her and whatever you decide to do!

What is wrong with 1st trimester massages?

How about throwing her a shower later on? At three months, it's early. I was very superstitious about getting baby stuff before "viability" - my MIL started buying things and we were like "stop!" So I don't recommend buying baby stuff yet unless you are SURE she wants it now. If she is three months, though, she's nearly out of her first trimester (to PP, seems there's no harm to massages during the first trimester, but places won't do it out of liability concerns due to so many miscarriages happening during that period - they don't want the correlation to seem like causation is what I've always heard). Anyway, after that I'd say you can definitely go for the massage as she can use it in a matter of a week or so. 13/14 weeks is end of first trimester at 3 months that's 12 weeks, right?

Enjoy being pregnant vicariously!
