Interesting. My alma mater is actually ranked higher than several of those in most rankings but apparently doesn't make the M7 grouping. And I was admitted to 3 of those and chose a different one. Oh well - back to counting my money.

I am wondering the same question, is MBA worth it? I am talking about top school MBA program, as I would not want to invest time/money if not getting into any of these top name schools. But are they really worth it and if you have been in a dead end job and dead end industry, can this assist you in opening some new doors, previously shut. Also, would you do this in your late 30s, early 40s, or is this going to be perceived as something strange?

a top mba can def help in career switching, but one will struggle getting in coming from a dead end job/dead end industry. furthermore the recent trend has been for the top 7-14 schools to take younger and younger students.
