Hour lunch break

I agree with this, OP. Yes, it absolutely sucks to get home so late, and to get out of work when it's pitch black in the wintertime. Make sure someone will walk you out. If they need you to man the desk until 6:30 because clients or customers are there until that time then you will NOT be able to take a shorter lunch and then leave earlier. You should keep looking for another job with the hours you want.

I would want to know what benefits they are offering to offset this inconvenience. More vacation days, extra salary, paid health insurance?

I don't know. The hours aren't unusual or generally inconvenient (I know they are for you, but not overall as other pps suggest.) You are getting in later - that's a big plus. Usually I am so rushed in the morning to get out of the house and get to work on time it's stressful. Some people might like the extra time in the a.m.

OP here. Thank you everyone. I decided to take the position, and I was very happy with the salary/benefits that were outlined in the offer. Additionally, it's a major career change for me and feel like I 'caught a break' since I really don't have any experience in this field. I am going to take a chance.
