I think kids should be expelled if they were so brazen to smoke pot at school. What they do after school off-campus would be another story.

two freshman boys, in the bathroom, during morning classes..

half of the girls on lacrosse team are drunks, like their parents..

it's a small town people

This is true, of course. But it's funny to think that when I was in HS the main purpose of the bathroom was smoking - mostly tobacco at the time. Times have really changed.

If my child got caught with drugs (of any kind) at school, I would beg them to expel her. Decisions deserve consequences and I would want her to learn the hard way. As a PP said, public school would not kill her and maybe she would then wisen up and not touch drugs again. I am teaching her at home that drugs ruin lives and that even one experiment can have devastating consquences. I would support any decision to reinforce that. Go ahead...flame away and make me so aware that I do not know how I would feel because I have not been there. Drugs are serious. Schools should not treat them as anything less.
