Anyone not accept? |
no, but we're on the fence. we said yes, but might reconsider. |
We loved loved loved the presentation at cold spring. Saletti seemed incredible. |
We declined the invitation from Barnsely for a variety of reasons and decided to stay with the language immersion program our child currently attends. Although we made the final decision, our child also expressed a preference for staying in their current program. |
What exactly did you like? |
It seemed like cold spring is going to meet each child where she is and help her develop. We don't have that in our home school. If you have that in your home school, there is less incentive to move. |
I need my GT kid to be inspired again. 2.0 -- at least for my child -- has killed a lot of the enthusiasm she had coming into public school. Since getting her acceptance, we have noticed a marked change in outlook. She is excited again. |
My son was like that. It was as if his world had gone from black & white to technicolor. Fantastic for him. |
But some of 2.0 can't be avoided. |
Why part of 2.0 can't be avoided? At the open house they said that they have to cover it and go beyond it. But they an cover the regular curriculum very quickly. |
Math 2.0 can't be avoided |
Still, a lot better than staying at home school, I think. |
But next year the math improves for everyone. |
Does it? I think those that can really be advanced are only being allowed to advance a little. |
Right now all 3rd graders are in 3rd grade math. Next year these kids can be accelerated to 4/5 grade math. That is an improvement if your child is allowed to accelerate. |
