Sibling Name Question

Thanks-- that's kind of what I thought. DH has admitted that he just doesn't feel like going through the name-picking process again. Markus was our boy name for Maria, so he wants to stick with it. I do love it, but I am going to push for a different boy name this time.

I hope that you and your brother at least like your own names individually! And I'm glad to hear you have a good relationship as adults-- I really hope mine do, too, when they grow up. Thanks again!

Too close. Mark might be less matchy, being one syllable, if your DD goes by full name.

We hated being so cutesy as kids, and now, as adults who happen to live in the same city as each other, having the same initials still is a problem. It's STILL too cutesy, and we STILL receive each other's mail sometimes.

Please do not do this. Please search for a different name.

Do you feel the same way if they don't start with the same letter, just the same sound?

Like the Carl, Kayla example.

Yes. My mother CLAIMS it was a total accident, but when pressed for alternates she says she was going to name him Daniel and me Dara, so clearly she's an alliteration freak who's just in denial. It's just a totally unnecessary thing to put on children.
