| Does Beauvoir have Math specialist for preK students? |
| Yes, the math specialist at the entry years serves both prek and kindergarten. The remaining grades each have their own math specialist. |
I'm curious above poster, are you also the OP ? I think a fair person would acknowledge that the Beauvoir ERB results are better than the " Independant School Norm" as shown above. How do you nay say that away, PP ? Are you seriously deluded enough to think that rich/ private school attending kids in DC are smarter than rich/private school attending kids everywhere else in 1% America ? Their parents may be more self-important, but not smarter than say people in CT suburbs of NYC, or NW Shore of Chicago, or Silicon Valley kids or Suburban Philadelphia kids, all of whom hear over and over that " our schools have the most National Merit finanlists and score highest in testing in the nation". Truth is, whetehr its wealthy suburban kids norm or Private School norm, we are comparing the same kids of the same affluent, highly educated parents. For Beauvoir to have scored slightly better that Private or Suburban schoool norm is a plus. The fact is the ERB committee which decides the stanine qualifying scores ( how many wrong can you get in a subset and still be 9th stanine) consists of teachers who mostly work in Public HS in Suburban Philadelphia( look it up ). To give you some idea of the wealth and affluance prevalent among these teaching communities that are choosing what is the " Subaurban School Norm": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lower_Merion_High_School http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheltenham_High_School http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladwyne,_Pennsylvania Now , show me the "pockets on poverty" and " ESL students" among the cohort above and realise that these are the students who are being used as the "standard Suburban School kid" to establish the " Suburban Public HS norms |
You've been tod " No" by three different posters now. How many more times do you need ot hear " no" to accept that that is a "no". |
|
Dr. Cathy Fosnot ( founder of the math program used )has been at the school for several days at a time to work with students, faculty, and parents.
Parents and students also attend Math Mornings every Wednesday morning before school to work on math problems together with the math specialists. |
| Same person posting 3 times in a row? |
