Do you ever avoid TTC based on what the due date would be?

If I had difficulty TTC I would not skip months because looking at the big picture that is such a small detail. I did delay TTC because of what the birthday would be. I also got the advice of the school cut off date.

We planned to skip this month in trying for #3 because a December baby would be difficult for us this year, but vacation coincided with likely peak fertility, so we'll see what happens. The past two times I conceived in the third month of trying, so luck would have it that we'll have a baby for Christmas.

As predicted, I got a positive test this morning. Excited and panicked about possibility of a third!

We didn't the first time, but I'm thinking that for our 2nd, I'd like a mid-August/early Sept EDD for two reasons 1) that would maximize the leave I can take (6 weeks carry over from previous year + what I accrue jan-sept before I get into a "use or loose" category and 2) my child can enter kindergarten exactly at age 5, rather than waiting til almost 6.

This for me too.

I was going to skip this month because I have a December b-day and it's annoying when nobody can come to your parties... but we decided to TTC anyway. Just calculated what my due date would be if we got pregnant aaaaaaaand it's Dec 24. Damn it.

Yes! We are currently trying to avoid a Christmas baby. We paused our ttc efforts this time two years ago as well and didn't conceive until six cycles later.

My DH is upset at the fact I'd be 38 weeks at Christmas if we conceived this cycle and thus unable to travel home for the holiday. I'm all like, hey, there's Thanksgiving! Now go get it up, buddy!

Nope. No waiting here.

We are not officially trying this month, but not preventing either. I have always felt bad for people with December birthdays, and I would be due on Christmas Eve. I didn't want to try this month, but my husband did, so this was our compromise.

i used to think, oh if DC is conceived around this time, she'll be in school by this point, which will be great for me, and childcare costs. So then I started TTC #2, and a year later it didn't work and then got tested, adn had to undergo IVF....I feel blessed to even get pregnant and have a baby...due dates I realize were ridiculous! Getting pregnant was the biggest issue!

Oh the luxury of planning due dates. I would take a Christmas baby any day of the week if it meant a healthy baby.

If you have a baby around Christmas, you get to claim a dependent for the tax year without actually having had one. Win!

^ Haha! This is my husband's reasoning, too!
