Um, that's Debra Messing.... |
Thank you! I couldn't figure why that person posted about "Will & Grace" when the thread was about Debra Winger.
|
| She should have LEANED IN |
I like that she LEANED OUT... |
| She was eclipsed by far more attractive actresses who came along around the same time. |
| Like a PP said, she has some iconic roles under her belt. I thought she was GREAT. Her retirement from Hollywood was pretty much voluntary, from what I've heard. She has a very successful artisan textile business in upstate NY now. |
This is just not true. She was nominated for every acting award out there and voluntarily stepped away (for whatever reason). |
|
Here's an interesting article from the NY Times about her. It's a few years old but still relevant.

That doesn't make sense. They were only married three or four years. |
Wow, thanks for sharing this. |
| She was difficult to work with, sadly. |
| Did you read "you'll never nanny in this town again"? There's something about Debra winger and Michael ovitz and he wrecked her career |
|
She was fantastic in 'Officer and a Gentleman' snd "Terms of Endearment'.
Dont know. |
|
Thanks for starting this thread, OP. Always thought she was great. Loved her in Terms of Endearment, Officer and a Gentleman, and Black Widow. As others have said, she voluntarily dropped out of Hollywood and moved to upstate NY. Here's another article:

I read this (prompted by the thread) - apparently she was nasty to people on the set and refused to even promo officer and the gentlemen so I think her next big movie she probably already had a contract for was her last biggie. |
