Tell Me About Your Favorite Sofa

Do you have pets? If so, consider getting a tight back (no back cushions) so the pets don't smush it if they lie on the sofa. Number one annoyance in our house.

I'm a big fan of Rowe for the price and quality. Lots of options for personalizing the fabric.

Personally I think 3 seat cushions makes a couch look dated.

I love this post because we need a new couch.

I can tell you what to avoid -- We have a slip-covered mess from Crate&Barrel. The cushions collapse to almost nothing if you sit on it for more than 20 minutes or so.

We have Rowe and vanguard sofas that are awesome 9 years later

We bought the Clifton from Mitchell Gold, I think the color is mushroom. Its a sectional which is nice for the two of us but it doesn't leave much room for another chair and its awkard with multiple people. So far every spill has come out of it. We love it!

I also like enough seat depth that hubbie and I can lie together on the sofa but not enough so I have to scooch back to lean against the back. The back and seat cushions should be removable, with removable washable covers. To avoid shrinkage, I wash the covers in the washer and put them back on when they're wet. Slip covers are a good alternative, but I don't like the look as well.

I like the first one better b/c I prefer square lines. And I don't like tight back couches like the second one.

don't the pillows get moldy? That seems so unsanitary to put wet (or even damp) covers on a pillow.

That second one is awful, OP. The first one is definitely better.
