| I'm currently selling my house w/a realtor (who is giving me a discount since she is the one who sold me the house to begin with) and given my limited time to deal with it she has been a lifesaver. She is saving me a lot of time by being the one to deal with buyers agents and their questions...some of which I can't answer in the "industry lingo" (or don't know what I am being asked because I don't understand the industry lingo...i.e. would I consider a mortgage assumption, etc.). Realtor also gives me a realistic view of the market, selling price, what is going to fly, etc. and what is expected from buyers in our market. |

I purchased a house from someone who was using a Redfin relator who was terrible. The result was that our first closing date had to be moved and my Agent (who was working as a buyer's agent) did much of the work to get everything pulled together. The next time I buy I will steer away from Redfin sellers.
When I sold my house, I was grateful for my Agent. I had not idea what needed to be done to stage the house, the strategy for pricing the house, and a bunch of other things. Plus I was glad I didn't have to deal with all that stuff and all of the paperwork. For me, it was worth the commission. For others, they have the time to spend on the project. Everything is negotiable. |

No one in their right mind pays 6 percent now.
Contact several realtors and ask them for a discount. If you don't get one that provides a reasonable one, go with redfin. |

I was happy with lawyers-realty.com In our neighborhood, houses sell within a week. Lower commission, professional service, lawyer too. He was happy and we were too.
Clean and efficient. |
| Some form of sale by yourself. The Realtors usually will not take a reduction, and if they do, they will want to move their buyers on to a more profitable house. They do not give up money for popular neighborhoods. They just don't. We sold ours ourself with 12 mon old twins. good luck! (We moved out). the house was empty. It sold itself. We used a lawyer. |

Redfin has it's issues. If you are in a hot area, the designated agent can get overwhelmed.
A friend tried Redfin, but the agent was so hard to get in touch with, she dropped them. |
