Also, if the school knows what's good for them, they should not be turning away/shunning (even subtle tones) PS and PK interested families. Even if they have 200 applications now, heaven forbid they do go into the 100s to fill their open spots, then first week of school 2 kids decide to go to another school (which will happen), they will likely then go deep into the 200s that 1st/2nd week. Sept shuffle is no joke. Especially with startups. |
| I also called Sela and they were very friendly and encouraged me to apply for pre-K - they did say they were having lottery, but they were clear that there is always flow in the Fall and that they would expect to draw from their waitlists. In contrast, we I called YY, LAMB, MV, even CM, they were pretty brusque. Maybe they just didn't want to get my hopes up. |
What year are you in for? Give up regardless meaning you won't attend? There are so many people waiting, so the sooner you tell them the better. |
| would give anything to get into Yu Ying. |
Yes, we're IB so its always there next year. We are Prek4. Will definitely surrender before the May deadline but waiting for charter results. I think we stand a good chance at Bancroft. I mean I will probably give it up because we have good WL#s this year so far, plus part of me wants to make it easier for an OOB family to get in. |
| In at Murch preK, will vacate when I get into Yu Ying |
Thank you from an OOB family for your honesty! Lots of people are waiting and I hope you get in where you want to be! |
| In at Takoma, but will give up if I get into LAMB or SELA. |
| Will leave for ITS or Cap City. |
