I will not move my child once she starts a school because it takes her such a long time to meet children and adjust to her teacher. I am going to be proactiv. I have talked to many and Robert Goddard is almost impossible to get in.

We got into Goddard via the waitlist and turned it down. There were a bunch of problems with the K teachers that year. One was let go.

We later applied to and got into Glenarden Woods. No problem. I put into the lottery three times, for two separate children, and we got in all three times. Glenarden was a mistake and the kids are now at their neighborhood school. Happy as can be.

You should go to Vegas! At least with the Goddard luck. I think Glenarden Woods took like 80% via lottery and then lots came in off the waitlist because people left. We've lost out on the lottery for both programs at Goddard every year and DC is in private. The parents we know told us the odds are pretty slim on French Immersion and really terrible on Montessori (someone told me 1 in 17 get in, another said 1 in 12, either is terrible). We'll try again for our younger child but I wish they could open more programs since these are so popular.

They actually had to re-open the lottery in October because they had so much turnover this fall.

We put in for the lottery for imagine charter school leeland. I have heard mixed reviews of the school. However, i have heard mixed review of many schools in PG county. If anyone has heard anything about this school that would be great. However, we are waitlisted. We are number 37. Does this mean we are 37 on this list to be admitted to kindergarten which i applied for. Or does 37 mean no matter the grade we are 37. They look at number one which might be fifth grade place them, look at number two oh they want second place them and keep going until they get to number 37. Just trying to get verification. Thanks!
