Where's your critical thinking in response to some of the other points people here have posted? |
So how does Mr. 30-year gun enthusiast propose to stop more Newtowns? Bury his jarhead in the sand? Arm schoolchildren? |
When was it his job? |
You are a Marine. A Marine who just told us that the tool does not matter. Unbelievable. I defy you to tell me that you said that in Iraq or Afghanistan. Or even from behind your desk job back here. Training matters, tools matter. And for an untrained civilian, the tool matters even more. But go ahead, tell me about how you'd just as soon carry a revolver with a speed loader into combat, or how you can pull off a Sandy Hook with that pair of scissors you talked about. And in case someone has any doubt, spending time in a gun club will convince you even more that the gun matters. Yes, you will learn that all guns can kill. But you'll also learn that it's constant tech talk about what weapon or load is more effective in any given situation. If the tool didn't matter, the entire industry would not be focused on it. Really, do I need to elaborate or is it enough that people can read gun reviews online, can go to the gun forums to see what people really say, can go to youtube to watch the gel tests for various weapons and loads. Lastly, I find it funny that you are talking about credentials, since your post started out with "Please spend some time at a range and LEARN something about the subject matter in which you speak" and ended with "Marine, father, gun owner. " Yet in between you offered only the rather odd opinion that scissors = gun and "look at Switzerland". |
Both Gen. Colin Powell and Gen. Stanley McCrystal have said that assault weapons and high capacity magazines have no place in civilian society.
"Tell that to the Marine." |
I have a gut feeling that Wayne LaPierre of the NRA will face biblical justice sooner or later. |
