Yeah Jim Vance!!!!! Warriors

Are all the people who want to change the name of the Redskins also trying to change the name of the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Blackhawks, etc.? What about colleges, such as Florida State Seminoles?

And I don't think "Warriors" is any improvement over Redskins. Still SCREAMS native American.

Neither is good. Why are those the only two choices?

Because I am a Steelers fan and could careless about DCs team beyond the totally reprehensible current name.
I don't care what you name them but the current one needs to go

dumbass, Chiefs and Braves are not demeaning. Redskins is an insult, a derogatory term. Indians is bad, but not nearly as bad as Redskins. I'm ok with Blackhawks or Seminoles. That is just (to me) like Celtics or Saxons or anything else. Just a tribe/group.

I have no idea why you think "Warriors" screams Native American. Have you ever heard of the Wounded Warrior Project, serving our service mean and women who are injured or disabled? Even if it did refer to Native Americans, its a term of respect, as opposed to a degradation of skin color.

PLus I like Warriors because Jim Vance is a local institution and I would love to honor him.

WTF does Jim Vance have to do with the word warriors? Is he a warrior? Or a wounded warrior?

You should watch the video. When he was growing up in Philly he rooted for the local basketball team, the Warriors, before they became the 76ers. They were one of the few pro teams in the area with black players. So he suggested the name Warriors so he could root for the Warriors again. Its just a cute little thing, not a big deal. But I like Jim Vance and I love that he made this statement, so I'm all in for Warriors.

And calm down with the WTF? You clearly hadn't seen his actual statement so you should hold your powder there,
