s/o: kitchen island top - stove or sink?

Humn. I kind of like nothing on an island. I think of it as a massive space for prep, plate, and (safe non-fire, non-water) conversation. Work (heat and sink) on the peripheries.

I love nothing on the island. So clean and neat. So much space. So versatile.

From your setup - have you thought about the fridge? I have been looking at houses and have seen tons of awkward fridge placements. Can you make 'the triangle' somehow? I think it would be nice with an open island from what you've described. It makes a beautiful display area for flower arrangements and appetizers when you have guests.

we have a second smaller prep sink on island. works very nice. main sink and cooktop are on counter. we cook a lot so definitely wanted a proper vent above cooktop (which meant cooktop NOT on island).

wow you're amazing! yes i have thought about the fridge and no i haven't figured out how not to place it in an awkward place! i'm really surprised that you're able to see this issue right away with such minimal details. i think the doors and the window pretty much left me without many viable options...
