The Tysons Comprehensive plan ties population in Tysons to construction of new schools. The new Arbor Row project that was approved dedicates a piece of land that will be used for a new elementary school at some point in the future (based on hitting a certain population level in Tysons that I dont know off the top of my head).

It will never happen at Lewinsville. They are expanding the center to accomodate more senior citizens. |
They should move the senior center to Pimmit, or split it an have some mor to Pimmit and some to MCC (since it will be expanding, why not add senior services to the mix). It is insane that they think one additional elementary school will do for the expected 100k increase in residents. Fairfax County currently has over 15% of its population in school. Even if the anticipated school load is a third of the current average (since housing will be geared to smaller units), it still means 5,000 more students or over 400 per grade. |
