Moving to DC - 5th gradeer with limited English (Spanish) - please advise

The parents must take the child to Office of Bilingual Education for a language assessment in order for the child to recieve ESL services. All DCPS schools are legally required to offer ESL services to English Language Learners, but some follow an inclusion model, while others do pull-out classes for ESL. In my opinion (as an ESL teacher) the pull-out model is more effective for low-level ELLs. The family might want to consider Brightwood, Takoma, or CHEC, depending on where the family lives, although CHEC starts at middle school.
