Barnard - Any current feedback on the PTA situation, PS teachers, behavior issues, etc...

Adding that my oldest is in K, reading really well and they are working through the Magic Treehouse series this year. Math work sheets are moving into multiplication. DC expects K students to be able to do 10X10 by the end of the year, which seems like a lot to ask, but they are getting there. PS-3 kid is 4, has started to recognize words on the page when we read at home, not just guessing from the pictures all the time. They use Tools of the Mind, creating themes in the class for several weeks at a time for the centers like hospital, grocery store, construction zone etc. Lots of play based learning.
Among the reasons I felt comfortable sending our kids there is because 1) I toured the school beforehand 2) their test scores were better the year before we got in and are still better than many charters and Columbia Heights area schools 3) I believe smart kids can come from any race or family income level.
