Is January anyone else's tightest month?

End of August/beginning of September is my worst. Getting the dorms ready every year, flying back and forth to school, beefing up their bank accounts, filling their meal cards, stocking their fridges, buying books, tuition, etc. I dread the beginning of school every year.

What I do to off-set January is not get my FSA reimbursement (flexible spending account) for the previous year until January of the next year. So I just got $4300 in my bank account, which really helps out.
