Let's talk about restaurants

Since this is my first pregnancy and I'm 38, I'm very careful at restaurants. When in doubt, I prefer no to eat certain foods, cooked shrimps...for example. One month ago, my husband and I went to an argentine restaurant-cafe in Rockville and I was tremendously pleased to have excellent red meat, actually we had barbeque. I chose tomato salad for sides and although argentine Malbec is the best red wine for me, I prefer to stick to the mineral water during my whole pregnancy.
If you crave for something sweet at home, I recommend buying Dulce de Leche (at the same place), it's a delicious milk caramel. The best brand is Veronica.
Here's the El Patio Restaurant's address:
12303 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, MD 20852. Phone: 301-231-9225/9226.

For sure I'll visit it again soon.

There isn't anything wrong with eating shrimp when you are pregnant. Did your doctor tell you otherwise?

I was told to avoid unpasteurized cheese (which most cheeses sold in the US are pasteurized), seafood containing high levels of mercury, cold deli meat (I can heat it up), and raw food.

I wonder what your doctor meant by "raw food". We eat raw food all the time......fruit, veggies, nuts, etc.

We were talking about "raw seafood". That's obviously on the list of "don't". I mentioned the delicious raw oysters I used to have (before getting pregnant) at Fish Market, a restaurant in Old Town Alexandria.
