I don't know, could be real, I got called a troll for asking about my situation. (early 30s, $1M so far) largely on the same premise. And yes, we have an advisor but sometimes it's nice to just get a second opinion. Or sometimes people give you ideas you hadn't thought of. |
OP said they live on 25K a month in expenses, so they don't need to continue having an income of $1 million a year once they've reached "the number" in savings. I would say that having enough revenue to generate double the current rate of expenses at a modest ROR (maybe 5%) leaves a comfortable cushion for expense creep, due to inflation and the desire for more comforts as one gets older. I don't have a financial calculator handy, but I'd estimate that $15 million would be enough. |
