I might be interested in anyone seeking to start a small school for kids in K-2 (ages 5-7ish) for students with strong academic abilities, but need support in other areas. I'd like to see it parent-coordinated, but conducted by a good special educator with experience--even if the special educator was part time. |
Maddux--their admissions season has past, unless you are seeking to enroll a girl
Diener--for kids who need a great deal of support (for ex, behavioral; require restraining) |
There are 2 post re. this. Has anyone met to talk about this, or are we the only family without a real school for next year? |
not sure if this is what you are talking about or not, but there is a small school starting for next school year for grades 6-12 (I think) called School for Tomorrow http://www.schoolfortomorrow.net |
I'm not sure if you can get to Northern Virginia but there are a couple of schools opening this year:
The Newton School (in Sterling) The Auburn School If you have a student who is in grades 3-8th, Oasis School is a hidden gem in Reston. Hope this helps |
