Yes that will work well when its 34 and a 30 mph wind. Maybe he should wait until May.

It doesn't stay windy until May.

This would be a great date.

Food, hot chocolate, and ice skating.

Bowling and ice skating are great ideas that are fairly neutral for a first date.

OP here. For everyone who made decent suggestions, thanks very much for the effort.

For the rest of you that made it a big joke, have a happy new year. I am sorry that you couldn't take my post seriously. You need to get a life.

My son is 16 and he likes to go bowling with his girlfriend.

If he is 17 and needs his mother to come up with an idea then either the kid or the mother has serious issues.

Why? Maybe it's the kid's one year anniversary with his girlfriend and he's just looking for something different to do other the regular high school dates. I think it's great that he and his mother seem to have open communication about something like this.

Thank you. OP Here. The Dc has already done bowling and ice skating. He is looking for different ideas and sometimes other people have gone through this and may have a great idea that DC has not thought of.

So we have serious issues because my son asked for advice? OK. I will try to understand that one. Don't we always read that teenagers and parents need to keep the lines of communication open?

What a weird perspective.

I think it's totally cool he's asking mom for ideas. And seriously, adults ask other adults for ideas on social activities all the time.

If you're near Arlington, they have teen skate nights at T.J., with a D.J. Saturday nights at 9.

Top golf in Springfield. Heaters, food, and driving range. Or, they could drive somewhere new (Baltimore, Richmond, mountains) for a day.

Great idea. Guaranteed to get some action.

Don't joke about that. My niece was 16 when she had sex in a church with a boy in her teen prayer group.
