Big law: anyone else in my boat?

Sorry OP, this is a harsh reality of big law to be sure. My DH was in a similar situation years ago, and he took it very hard. His personality is such that it really shook his self-confidence, creating unintended future career problems. I think he just felt shaken and had a hard time believing in himself after not making partner.

On the other hand, I know lots of lawyers in your shoes who not only bounced back but landed great career opportunities at agencies, smaller firms, private practice, corporate in house gigs. I think it's really all in how you look at things and whether you're basically a resilient person. You sound resilient. I think you'll be just fine. Good luck!
