National Building Musuem Exhibit for Kids - Opinions?

I think people who think it's FABULOUS maybe live close in and don't have a lot of other similar options for kids and/or also find it easy (relatively) to get there. We live in Fairfax County and went in there for our then 5yo DD last Fall and, yes, it was fun, but I wouldn't say it was totally worth the trip. They still had the Legos so we did those; they also had the big, blue, foam things and she did those. That took about 30 minutes? She enjoyed them. And then we were all kind of like, 'Huh. Ok. That's done." We just didn't really think it was worth the drive or attempt to get there. I had much higher expectations based upon what I had read here and was kind of underwhelmed.

There seems to be a novelty for people with young children to have a giant indoor space for cold or rainy days but it's not more than a couple hours worth of entertainment and not a regular stop for those 5 and older.

Honestly, I miss the days when it was more than an architectural Play Zone, when the target audience wasn't parents of young children, but I guess foot traffic is a goal of any museum.
