| I'm not sure of the point of your post. However most highly educated people, like those on this site, would not find the mail stuffing, court reporting and other vague "work" you have described to be appealing. What is your educational background such that this "not-a-job work" excites you so? |
That's your opinion. I don't work for fulfillment or prestige. I work because I want the money- plain and simple. If I didn't want the money, then I'd be very fulfilled from reading books, volunteering, spending time with my family, and traveling. I also garden, sew, and I am writing a book. That is life to me, that is fulfillment to me. I would clean houses if it was profitable enough, and allowed me to stay with my children. There are many people who would love to get to the point of making six figures period. Add working from home, with a flexible schedule, and not that many hours- and some people would indeed find the topic interesting. I'm not sure why the focus seems to be my side business, but I guess it must be easy to overlook that I said it was a SIDE business and I do other work. If you are happy with your life, then be happy. If you need an office job to be happy, that's fine. There are lots of threads to discuss the merits of that. That was not the point of this thread. If you or anyone else has any questions about this types of work you can do from home, I'd be happy to answer them as that was the point of this thread. But debating whether or not you approve or respect what I do is not the point, and it's not my concern. That's not arrogance, that is how I feel about life. I care about my kids, my husband, and my bank account. That is where my validation comes from. I wrote this to be helpful to those who would still want to work, but be with their kids. If that is not you, then we really don't have anything to discuss in this particular thread. However, I do look forward to engaging you in other threads on this forum. |
