You seem very passive aggressive in life. That is a lot of eye rolling. |
OP here, I don't know anymore except that the mother who was dropping off was already gone (as she does drop off much earlier). The tablet would be there all day, but I hope that the teacher was going to put it in the cubby or something. I didn't mention it at the time, but do plan to discuss it when I pick my child up. |
| Crazy. One day kids were looking at an iPad for the few minutes you were there? No, I definitely would not bring it up and certainly not to the director. If you see it again, yes, but otherwise, I think you just need to relax. |
| OP failed to say if this was a one time thing or not. |
Well, OP posted today and said it happened this morning so I think we can assume it was one time. |

I hate this! In my DDs preschool, there are 2 children who just will not nap. The school does not have enough teachers to be able to remove the 2 children from the room during nap time, supervise them and still maintain ratios with the napping children.
Their response....the children can bring in a DVD player or an iPod to watch during nap time. This is utter BS!!! My kid naps but if she sees that little Johnny gets to watch a movie during nap time, of course I get the questions at home. IMO, if they want to look at books or do puzzles quietly that fine, but electronics....no way! It's our last year. 5 or 6 more months to go. I'm just going to suck it up. But the little one isn't going there. |
| Could it be just a special treat right before the Holidays? |
| Wow, I can't believe this is an issue for anyone. |
What you are describing is daily. I think that's different than 5 minutes one day. |
| Woah. This is even worse than if a teacher had been smoking around the kids! I think the magnetic waves from iPads and TV have been proven to cause inoperable brain tumors. In fact, you should probably get a full-body scan for your child and make sure the preschool covers it 100%. How dare they? |
| It would annoy me. Daycare is daycare not a place for iPads. I agree with OP. Sorry to be an outlier. Something tells me that when the thing gets broken the sentiments on this thread will change about it being ok for it to be there in the first place and if my kid was near the table when it was broken if I'm responsible to pay for it. |
