PTA are separate operations from the school system. Therefore the mythical gift limit doesn't apply. If Booster Clubs can buy coaches extravagant gifts then PTA can give whatever they damn well please. I have given televisions, day at the spa, gift certificates worth 250 or more. One year I was pleased to buy the entire senior class sponsors athletic team jackets worth 250.00 each. It was the merriment in the giving.
