what would you think if a 6 year old had Uggs?

I grew up with a mother who wouldn't spend money on anything she deemed not worthwhile and she also prohibited me from spending my own money on anything she deemed frivolous. I wanted a pair of Jordache jeans when I was in middle school. I had babysitting money to pay for them. Nope. I could have the cheap knockoffs from Kmart. I certainly couldn't spend my own money on the pair of jeans I wanted. Vans? Nikes? Nope. Nope. Plenty of "good" shoes to choose from at a cheaper price point. No need to buy anything ever because you worked for it and you want the "real thing" not the cheap knock off.

My mother gasped in horror when she saw my daughter's Uggs. "Why did you buy her those expensive boots?!!" My response, "Because I can."

I must have posted this and don't remember. I think I said Amen when I finished reading (especially about the jordache jeans)

I wouldn't think anything at all for a child over 3 or 4. Maybe even 2.

Under 2, though, I'd think the parent was a complete idiot for spending that kind of money and that they must be a FTM.

My 2yo son is on his second season with his "baby" Uggs, which are only $50, and he just got a new pair that look like the adult Uggs. I think they are adorable and don't care what anyone else thinks!

BTW, you can buy new shearling footbeds for $10 a piece on the Ugg website.

Who cares. If you can afford them, buy them.

+1. Our 2 yr old has a pair of the Bearpaws and they have held up well despite lots of use!

I can't imagine anyone would have a one-year-old walking around in ill-fitting shoes so I guess what you're saying is your two-year-old's feet haven't grown in a full year. Have you discussed this with the pediatrician? It sounds highly unusual to me.

20:14, get a grip!

My daughter got Uggs for Christmas when she was 1. She adored them. She wore them maybe six times. Yes, I was a FTM. yes she and I loved every minute of it and I think it was worth every penny.

I have seen lots of girls in the 1st and 2nd grade with the real Uggs, I don't think anything of them. Personally, I don't like them but to each their own. If she likes them buy them maybe buy them a size bigger and she can wear them again next winter.

I wouldn't know real Uggs from fake ones.

To me, they're all pretty much f'ugly.

I wouldn't think twice about buying my 6 y/o Uggs. If she likes them, why not?

They were big when he got them (to accomodate a wide foot), the shearling has matted down and made more room in the shoe, and his feet had only grown one size until a very recent growth spurt.

Nothing wrong with Uggs for boys. They are very easy and snuggly in the winter for little boys.

Most of the girls in dd's second grade class have them, so I don't think it is a big deal. If she wants them, you can afford it, get them. My dd loves hers.
