My son's kindergarten had 19 girls and 6 boys. We eventually moved him to another school.

I saw somewhere through some Fairfax County statistics that this area has more boys than girls. My boy is also born 2005 and I definitely see more boys than girls everywhere. Possibly some environmental reason? Each jurisdiction keeps track of how many boys and girls are born. It would be interesting to see the trends.

I have a DD born in 2005 and her first grade class also skews towards boys. MoCo public.

What does this have to do with anthropology?

What does your question have to do with a 1.5 year old thread?

CDC data - in 2005 in US, 1.05 males to 1 female birth ratio (you can adjust by year here: http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/People/Sex-ratio/At-birth#2005)

Other 'sex ratio' (boy to girl) general trends (1940-2002) http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/05facts/moreboys.htm

I think area specific, there are more boys here though than other areas of the country.
