Can Shady Grove turn you down for not having been TTC long enough?

As a previous poster mentioned, the real issue on timing is insurance. Some insurance will not cover any infertility treatment until you have been trying for 1 year and will not cover IVF until you have been trying 2 years, regardless of circumstances. Possibly the RE just doesn't want patients to come in thinking their insurance will cover when it will not (still not a reason for rudeness).

A good RE will talk to you, get an understaning of your situation, and creat a plan. If they think you have not been trying long enough, they should tell you. But, I would not guess they would turn anyone away based on number of cycles, particularly if you have an identifiable concern already.

Good luck!

OP here- thanks to all of you for your help and support. For those of you who said it was an insurance issue, you were right: turns out my insurance only covers it after 12 months of actively trying. So here I am, knowing I have a problem and not being able to get any help. It really sucks. The only thing I can do now is to see if an ob/gyn could help me. Does anyone know an ob/gyn who could diagnose me with PCOS and give me appropriate treatment (Metformin)?

I see Lashgari in Arlington she referred me to an RE when she saw that I had PCOS, despite insurance requirements.
