Look, PP, I get that. But as an adult you'd THINK you'd be a tad bit smarter than Clash was. While a 14 yo can look 20, it's still not wise for some 40 yo to take up with someone THAT much younger. What if he were your kid? And while I can "overlook" the first incident, accepting the belief that Clash was duped, I can't get past the second incident where the kid claims he was 15 and being wooed. Gay is gay. Being a pedophile, however, is a whole different beast. Dude's not gay; dude's a predator. |
Technically he's not a pedophile. Pedophiles only want undeveloped children. |

The accuser, Cecil Singleton, is now 24. The suit said that Mr. Singleton “did not become aware that he had suffered adverse psychological and emotional effects from Kevin Clash’s sexual acts and conduct until 2012.” It sought $5 million in damages.
—----–-- Please. This is a blatant stunt for money. Which is more disgusting, the so called victim or his attorney? |
| For those who are insistent that its the fault of the victim - would you be thinking differently if it was a 15 year old girl and a 40 year old man? |
|
My sister had sex with her former high school teacher. He waited to seduce her till she had graduated and she was 18. His wife, also a teacher at the school, knew about it. Sister said later that looking back she thinks that the teacher was "grooming" her for the affair back when she was in school. I'm sure she thought it was a good idea at the time but it was clearly an abuse of power and a very negative experience which she realized later. Guy was a real user.
Adults have a responsibility to protect young people. They can seduce people their own age or masturbate. |
| isn't there a statute of limitations or something? |
Who said anything about fault. It was consensual sex. 15 is old enough to know you shouldn't have sex, let alone with a 40 year old. If you choose to do so, and you were not forced....move on with your life. You regret it? Ok, go to therapy. Blame your parents for not watching you carefully and for not raising you to have some sense. Now if you were FORCED then that is different. |
Get out from your cave and do your research. not true They have a preference. Usually, they are stuck at the age at which they, too, were molested. So you're defending him? scary |
Uh. Yes it is. |
Depending on state 15 years. Are we really discussing NY daily? |
I knew a guy who had a similar experience with a female teacher we had. He was pretty clearly psychologically troubled and she was just awful. |
|
Guys, if a complete a**hole gets robbed, the police investigate the crime and work to catch the bad guys. The bad guys don't get fewer years in prison just because the person they robbed happened to be a jerk.
I am truly, truly upset about Clash, and this accuser could have been a horrible person when he was 15 and is still a horrible person now, but... You do not have sex with a minor Period. I don't think Clash is "as bad" as Sandusky, not by a long shot, but the question is whether he broke a law. If you think this accuser never actually never had ANY underage sex with Clash, that's one argument, but to say "well, maybe they did have sex, but..." and try to rationalize it is wrong. |
Its statutory rape. And adults can easily manipulate minors, especially those who are needy or who have troubles at home (often, that is who predators target). |
You're definitely a stupid idiot if you expect a 15yo to be mature to the point you're trying to make. It's just ridiculous that you're defending this monster and I just hope your child doesn't fall Ito any aniseed radar because you clearly will miss it and your child will have no support at home. |
| Yes, I hope my child isn't stupid enough to go trolling the net looking for sex from some old pervert. I don't expect my 15 year old to have the intelligence of an 8 year old. That's why there are so many 30 year olds acting like 17 year olds. Grow up. Kevin is a perv and the boy had sex willingly. Don't try to pretend that a few months (as far as legal cut off for consent) makes a huge difference. If you are old enough to consent at 16 or 17, then you are old enough to say "get that dick away from me" at 15. |
