| We used stainless steel. If you use a little butter and the pan is hot enough, there isn't a sticking problem. |
| Scrambled eggs on stainless works fine with a little practice. We can't use cast iron on our glass top electric range. |
| Stainless steel... or coated cast iron. |
Cast iron pans are also a good way to get extra iron in your diet. |
Why is that? |
I don't make scrambled eggs much, but it works for omelets. Do a Google search for making omelets in a SS pan. You use a bit more oil/butter, but I'd rather that then Teflon in my food. Does take practice, but after a few months, it works fine. |
Isn't the issue of lead paint in the enamel coated pans also an issue? I might be wrong about that. |
Jesus really? This is the OP. I just bought a ceramic set today... |
| What about the hard anodized nonstick pans, like Calphalon or Analon? Are they a problem too? |
I'm the OP. yes it seems they are... I had the Calphalon... :/ |
|
This is all driving me completely crazy!!!
Can nobody make anything that is nontoxic anymore? |
Some of the older enameling yes. But not modern enameled cast iron |
You should be fine. I think there were some slow cookers made in China that contained lead but if you bought a nice set it's very safe. |

Try Le Creuset - cast iron for frying pans and enamel coated iron for deeper dishes. You will love the cast iron over time and never want to go back to the nonstick.

Don't panic about teflon - just don't forget it on high heat on the stove near your bird:
