If she's elected, she'll be moving to Observatory Circle, which will make her a DCUM. What we're doing is gossiping about a really interesting new neighbor; it's understandable, but not politics. Perhaps there should be a Back-fence Gossip forum.

I am guessing a lot of this nastiness is from the liberals--who counterintuitively decide what kind of career a mom can have and how a family should operate with said career. FYI-I was the poster who said I could care less what color the baby is--stupid stupid.

People from both sides are arguing against their political instincts because of their ad hoc feelings about this particular person -- human, human.

If my daughter was this age and pregnant, I would not have accepted the nomination. I mean, think about the mean things the media said about Chelsea's looks and about the antics of the Bush girls....I just can't imagine putting my pregnant teenage daughter in the media spotlight.

I don't get the impression that Sarah, Bristol's mommy, is a deep thinker and played out the various scenarios in her head prior to accepting this lotto bonanza. Remember, she "didn't blink" and said yes.

First, this is a ridiculous story/thread, because it does not seem remotely credible.

Second, to the poster who said "I am guessing a lot of this nastiness is from the liberals--who counterintuitively decide what kind of career a mom can have and how a family should operate with said career" -- I am a liberal who has a problem with Sarah Palin. Not with her family, not with her pregnant daughter, not with her baby, not with her husband, not with anything except her complete lack of relevant experience and knowledge necessary to be second in line to the presidency. The fact that so many conservatives are defending her and buying the McCain campaign's ridiculous spin that somehow anyone who is against her is a sexist? It's somewhat embarrassing. If I were you, I would be offended that my party thinks I'm that gullible and easily manipulated. Do you buy the argument that anyone who is against Obama must be a racist? No? Exactly.

PP-and not to mention that McCain put this country at serious risk by choosing Palin-as if we, the American people, are stupid enough to believe this woman is qualified to be the President of the US. I'm sure we, the US, are the laughing stock to the world! Anyone is now qualified to the President of the US-ANYONE. McCain is a jerk and a joke, an old man who's life ambition is to hold the highest ranking office in the land. Just listening to him talk makes my skin crawl. When he was "rubbing" Bristol and her baby daddy's arms, how creepy.

The 'sexist" defense is just like Bush's "If you're not with us, you're against us." "If you question us, you're unpatriotic"

I am a Dem and was also thinking that if the Dem's thought I was that stupid that they're going to throw in someone so unqualified, I'd feel that my intelligence was being assailed and would consider changing parties.

I don't care that Sarah Palin did not go to Harvard or any ivy league. I would look at her dept of experience, intelligence, curiosity about current events. In March of this year, she didn't "give much thought to Iraq." She appointed her childhood friend who is a real estate agent as head of Alaska's agriculture dept. Sound familiar? Like the Bush appointee, Michael Brown who was appointed to the head of FEMA after his qualifying career breeding horses. Palin really is a Bush in a skirt - a simpleton.

Or if she's already had her reputaion run through the mud because her mom announcedto the world in a press conference that she was pregnant out of wedlock, maybe it doesn't count as harmful to your reputatino anymore? Hmmmm....)

Anyhow, I think "Kevin" is just looking to promote his budding music career, with the link to his myspace page. Did you check it out?

Not a bad strategy for getting attention -- If you don't run into pesky legal issues, that is.

You think it was wrong for Palin to come out with the info about Bristol? What would your media friends have done with the story if she hadn't? Thank you, goodbye.
