| I let my kids decide when they need to go to bed, but all screens go off at 10pm. If they want to lay in bed reading for an hour that's fine. Also, they can decide when they go to bed as long as they meet their morning commitments and do it pleasantly. |
| My son goes to bed at 10:30. No electronics. |
| My 16 yo son is good about going to bed when he's tired. The bigger problem is that he does a sport that keeps him at school until 7:00 4 nights/week. This coupled with a rigorous course load usually means he's up until 11-12 just getting homework done. He makes up sleep on weekends and occasional lighter homework nights. |

My soon to be 16 year old sister doesn't have a bedtime and will go to sleep between 10-12a.m. We never really had bedtimes when we were kids...usually parents would tell us we need to go to bed and we'd say alrighty and keep doing our thing.
She does have a need to be up time of 6a.m. and since she wakes herself up on time and it doesn't affect her grades, my parents don't care. |

My 15 y/o goes to bed around 9 pm on school nights, unless he has homework he needs to finish... but he gets up (on his own) at 5:30 to get ready for school. On the weekends, or if he doesn't have school the next day, we usually go to bed before him and tell him he can stay up if he's quiet.
