Living Social's "strict return policy"

Anonymous
Some reason for the difference in service is that Groupon pays the vendor their cut of the sales over a 6-month period (maybe 4month) in about 3 payments. Living Social pays it all at once not too long after the promotion ends. Groupon still has the chance to take some of the money out of an upcoming vendor payment, Living Social would have to do it all out of their pocket.

That's beyond the Pale. They didn't even refund for a non-existent business? This is the OP and I'm really thinking,a fter hearing so many others' stories or reporting them to the AG's Consumer protection office. Thanks folks.

Give 'em a double whammy and report them to the FTC, too.
