How shallow can you be. Get a gun and blow your brains out makes one monster assumption... that one has the physical ability to do so. An ALS vicitm who waiting until they were little more than a talking head couldn't do it, the Dementia patient couldn't do it. The terminal phase cancer patient may not have sufficient strenght and if a care giver does the task there have been numerous cases where zealous prosecutors charge the caregiver, be it a husband or wife seeking to end his loved ones agony, with murder |
I voted for the MA ballot question on assisted suicide. I felt that it was good to take a stand to allow people to die with dignity. However, it also took a leap of faith that the law will be used judiciously. |
