| Holy crap people! I eat out maybe twice a month. Lunch is yogurt or leftovers.., |
| We probably eat out twice a week, sometimes more. Family rule is packed lunches at least three days a week. My guess is $500? I would say we are probably closer to average than the rest of the posters on this thread. |
| If we're not traveling, we probably spend $150-$180 on food out every month. Family of four. Includes the occasional work-related lunch out (and more frequent coffees purchases) for one parent. Otherwise, we pack lunches or eat at home every day. "Eating out" usually consists of ordering in pizza and having movie night. |
| $1800/ month. No joke. Don't ask. |
I'm the 1k pp. I honestly don't know anyone who spends as little as the other posters on this thread. Maybe if they were in college...? |
Because they probably do not live on a budget and probably actually have no clue how much they spend. Fact. |
| $10 pizza every Friday. |
I'm the $60-$120/mo PP. DH is unemployed, so we are trying to be conservative. But even without this setback, I would prefer to economize on these types of consumables and invest in fancier vacations, for example, or more serious stuff. We cannot, as yet, afford it all
|
| PP who spends $700 here. I can't imagine just ordering pizza and Chinese ad nauseum. Doesn't anyone else crave Indian some nights? Or Ethiopian? Or pho? Or Greek/Mediterranean? Or, hell, just "new American" that you don't know how to emulate at home? I'd be so depressed if my meals were limited to the tacos/spaghetti/chili/casseroles/stirfry I know how to make. Eating at home seems so limiting and boring. |
| Probably $600/mo for dinners out and some lunches out for me M-F. We are a family of 4. |
|
I think some people are underestimating. Like $10 for a pizza. I can't find a pizza for $10. Everyime we order it is probably almost double that with tax, tip, delivery. Plus more if we get wings.
I spend $75 on coffee/breakfast, probably $100 for lunch, dinner out with fam once or twice a week for $80. (?). Some weeks that includes a pizza night for $30. Some weeks that is on top of that amount. We are not wealthy but this is an area of convenience and we roll with it. We do not do fancy just go for ease. Especially with the 4year old and 2year old. |
Just realized I calculated too high == more like $500/mo. It's still a lot of $$ either way. |
|
Husband lunch in DC: $100 a week
Eating out on the weedend: $100 a week= $800 a month. I hate to do the math, because it makes me want to puke. |
+1 |
| Probably $1K-$1.5K per month. It's indulgent, but we enjoy it for our family of four. We also eat plenty of home-cooked meals -- just like to do it up fancy when we go out. |
