Women's issues are worth protecting, because women are more able to get an education, get a well-paying job, and raise healthy children with these rights. And while they may not impact you significantly because of your education, HHI, etc., these rights are critical to lower-income women. |

No one votes "only" on women's issues. And men vote on women's issues as well. We all benefit from eliminating gender bias. |

The problem is that these male politicians who are interfering in "women's issues" are a threat to my liberty and that of my daughters. If I don't have liberty - total freedom to have sex, to use birth control, to have a baby or not have a baby, to take an emergency pill if I am (legitimately) raped, to be married or single or even in a same sex relationship - when politicans start dictating these choices to me, they threaten my fundamental liberty. And I don't care if unemployment is 8%; without liberty I am not a full participant in your economy anyway. All these decision these guys want to make for me have a huge economic impact on me. "Give me a good economy or give me death!" - Patrick Henry. Oh wait, no, the fundamental thing he died for is LIBERTY. And Republicans want to take women's lib away. My boss should have a say in my contraceptive coverage? Really??? When Republicans are no longer the party of Vaginal wands, AZ laws defining pregnancy and menstruation, and MO Senators talking about real rape and female biology, I might give a R) a fair hearing. Until then, I vote all pro-choice, all the time. |

Yeah, it's much more palatable to make sure those babies are born, so their dads can decide to kill them in vairous horrible ways, and try again sooner for a boy.
