bathrobe and nightgown for hospital?

Anonymous
i bought a cheap, roomy, knee-length nightgown and wore it w/ a cami/tank under it for breast support during my 36 hours of labor. it is huge and blue and hideous, but I have the best memories in it! my husband christened it my "labor nightgown." i haven't worn it since, but am keeping it tucked away for #2. i birthed in a birth center, and was home the same day. i lived in sweat pants the first few days...make that weeks!

I must disagree with the majority of posters here. I cannot stand hospital nightgowns. They are paper thin and have been worn by God knows how many other people. As soon as I could shower I was wearing my own nursing PJs and bathrobe. I did not want to greet visitors in some shapeless hospital issue smock and I felt more like myself in my clothes. I had a c-section and I also wore lounge pants and my own underwear after the first 24 hours.
