2x a week. No pets, one toddler. No maid, no Roomba. I like to vacuum, it's kind of relaxing. |
Daily..I have three small kids that make a mess with Cheerios. |
Spot vacuum as needed, full vacuum once a week.
Similar with bathrooms and other rooms. Throughout the week we wash dishes/run the dishwasher, take out trash as needed, and spot clean. Full clean once a week. Deep clean a couple times a year (declutter and get rid of stuff, clean out closets, etc). |
Once every 2 weeks when the cleaning service comes. 2 kids 2 dogs. |
500ft w/almost crawling baby & shedding dog.
Every day. |
Ok... For those of you who apparently vacuum quite regularly, when do you get this done?? |
Usually once a week, sometimes every other week. |
I'm here to make my fellow lazies feel better.
We have 1 dog who sheds a lot, no kids, 1600-sq-ft house. Hardwood and area rugs in main living space: Only gets vacuumed when guests are coming over, probably once every 4-6 weeks. Carpeting in bedrooms and office, which no one sees: Vacuumed once or twice a year. We've resisted getting a house cleaner because the mess just doesn't bother us. But we finally broke down and hired one (just last week!) so that we don't have to live in fear of people dropping by. |
Shoes-off house, hardwood throughout, 2 children, no pets:
1. I sweep every day under the dining table (crumbs) and 2-3 times a week in high-traffic areas (kitchen, entryway, etc). 2. Vacuum once every week or 2 weeks, with or without mopping. I wish I mopped more often - it does make a difference. I stay home, so it gets done when I think about it ![]() |
We have a cleaner once a month. I never vacuum. My husband has a lower tolerance, so he might vacuum once every week or two. I do wipe up anything spilled or dropped on the floors though. |
Sweep the kitchen (hard wood) floor at least once a day; vacuum at least one day per week. I LOVE my Dyson and look for excuses to use it! |
Once a week - but kids are bigger and all of us are out of the house 10 hours a day. When kids were small and we were home making more messes I vacuumed 2-3x a week and spot swept as needed. I usually did it while the kids were playing in the playroom. |
Wow. This is interesting. We vacuum every day, at least once without fail. Using a Dyson stick to make it easy. It's my husband's thing - while I bathe the kids and get them ready for bed, he does a massive vaccuum/clean of our main first floor rooms, pulls up the rugs and gets under the sofa, etc. We have a small house and while I might not be so intense about it myself, I really appreciate it and now do it myself when he's on the road. We all have our things - I hate coming downstairs in the AM to dirty dishes - but clean floors just feel more hygenic and livable. Bathrooms are spot cleaned as needed (they each have Ergorapido stick vacs and cleaning supplies so I can clean up a bit while kids are in the tub). House cleaners come every two weeks, wish it could be more often! Wow, this seems OCD in comparison to some of the PPs but it sure doesn't look or feel like that. |
The carpet in the living room gets it about once a month. The floors get about the same. Kitchen floor is cleaned weekly.
We have two boys, no housekeeper and our home is a mess. |
How many of you have jobs? Because I vacuum, say, once a month. I swiffer a little more than that, especially when I see dust or something else on the ground, but yeah, I do not have time to vacuum 2x a week!! |
