No. I don't think this is an aging issue. OP said it's been going on for ten years and that they have kids who are still young enough to be taught how to wipe. Unless she's having kids with a 60 year old, I don't think it has to so with getting older.

If op is also 23:23, then the spouse is a man. And if OP deliberately avoided using gender, it's not out of the usual for people to assume gender in their responses. If you don't want people to assume the wrong thing, state it correctly.
