| Well I guess you prove that crazy isn't confined to DC. |
| California people are weird. |
| OP, why are you worried about this? I would venture to say that most people have accidentally thrown a tray in a fast food restaurant in the trash. Of course, the few times I have done it I usually try to fish it out. But you were sick. Cut yourself some slack. If I were you I'd fret more about my overheating issue than the tray. The staff probably didn't even notice. |
| This has to be one of the most hilarious threads I've ever read on here. LMFAO |
| OT but what's the cause of your overheating? |
Um, being hot.

I was once absent minded and put my nice plate in the trashcan at a restaurant. I'm sure it happens to lots of people and the restaurant is used to it.
You were a great customer and avoided getting sick or fainting right there which would have been much more trouble for them. If you enjoy the food, go back and give them more business (but wait for the heatwave to end first if you don't want to overheat again). |
| Ahhh. I miss SF. |
don't forget to leave your kids in the car while you do it! |
With the windows up and no AC. And make sure to yell and be nasty to the worker in the dry cleaning shop. |
This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time! |
| I really thought this story was going to end with you throwing up or passing out, or both, in the restaurant. You just threw your tray away, jeez. That's no problem. I know how you feel though. I don't usually throw up, but I definitely have that overheating problem. I get completely nauseous and can no longer function. |
| Just start going to some other restaurant. They are poisoning their customers |

OP here - thanks everybody. I wrote that maybe an hour after it had happened and was so focused on dealing with my difficult boss while also not feeling well that I couldn't think straight. It's cooler today than it was yesterday but their little restaurant hadn't cooled down yet (and I'm sure eating hot soup wasn't helping me). I had no idea this tray-dropping thing happens - I've certainly never done that before or seen anyone do it. If I'd felt better, I really would have fished the tray out of the trash. Thanks for all the responses.
BTW, I'm not a CA person - I'm a NYer. |
Also, don't forget to "cheerfully jump out of your car." |
