Is 2 years old too young for trick-or-treating?

No, my two year old had a blast last year. Of course he didn't eat all the candy but that wasn't the point and no one seemed to mind giving in to him either. We took our loot to our offices and our interns gladly ate it all.

I took my 1 yo DD trick or treating last year. She loved it - she didn't take much candy - though people encouraged her too. We went to maybe 20 houses and she came home with a few pieces of candy - she just reached in and rummaged, and once she found a box of junior mints she just held onto that for the rest of the time. We went with a group of neighbors with slightly older kids...their kids took candy everywhere, ours did not. Go!

My son loved it at 2. He went to a few houses with DH while I manned our front door - the best part for him was being able to pick out a piece of candy. Even better was when he got home - every time someone came to our door, he would help them pick out a piece of candy, then he'd pick out one for himself. It was all about the accumulation. He didn't actually want to eat any of it; we took care of that for him later. Sadly, he has recently discovered that candy tastes good, so we will probably struggle with limiting the sugar this year. But last year was great - lots of fun, and he looked cute in his costume.

We had fun at 2 years old, but just did a little bit of trick or treating in our neighborhood. Not too many houses, and it was really fine. Hope you have fun!
