Example of a special parking job

Add me to the list of those who don't really see what the big problem here is.

I parked like this at the Rio in Gaithersberg, only because there were not any other spots in the garage and it was wide open. We received a warning ticket from the garage manager saying we'd be towed next time.

When we went back a month or so later, they had installed four cement poles to keep cars out of the space. Maybe it was a structural issue?

No. When some of us use it, we are using it in the context of the SNL skit, "the Church Lady". Not a backhand at special education, just a backhand at overly entitled douchebags.

If the garage has that space sealed off there must be a reason for it. It is to their benefit to have as many spaces as possible, right? So this space must not be parkable for a good reason. Structural or perhaps rules about having space for emergency vehicles or stretchers. Who knows? But the person who parked there just assumed they know something the garage owner doesn't, which seems very unlikely to me.

I reported it for that reason. Not cool OP.

What exactly would be the rationale for this? I walk by a thousand cars a day, all of which have license plates I can read if I want to, but for some reason the driver is injured if a photo of one random car with a license plate is posted on the internet? Get real.

Because it gets passed around the internet and crazy folks find ways to identify and contact the owner. They blur celebrity plates as well on paparazzi sites.

Not a legal space but taken by a special car anyway!

Are you posting from China?

Nah, you're just mad because you didnt think of it first. its clear they arent blocking YOUR ability to park as the area around the car is no where close to any other cars....so why do you care?

How cute. You sound like a 10 year old...or like someone whose car was posted on the internet because you parked stupid.

Actually, I don't park "stupid" (where did you go to school?). I actually go to great lengths to park legally.
I simply posted my remark because I truly do not understand how this person is hurting anyone. They are not blocking anyone, it's not a handicap spot....yes, it's not a LEGAL spot but why is that anyone's issue except for the driver and the garage cop.

And totally uncool to put someone's license plate on the internet. I think the whole dang post should be taken down.

Can you actually read the plate? I viewed the image and expanded it as much as my browser would let me and only 3 of the 7 letters are clear enough that they are likely specific letters. The other 4 are really much more guesswork than can actually be recognized. I don't think it's really obvious what the plate says.

Yes, I can read the full license plate.

Wonder why it isn't a space? Should be.

Of course, the crazy people who troll these boards looking for identifiable license plates on purportedly bad parking jobs. The crazy people with shadowy connections that allow them to identify the owner, who then come to the person's house and kill them. Yes, I see how that's a perfectly rational thing to be afraid of.

Looks like you missed the point. It is ILLEGAL for a reason. It makes no difference if you think it's ok. Your word means absolutely nothing.
