No, they eat regular sugared items (jello, candy). Diet or sugar free is not good for you.
I also let my kids have dessert. We just have a small amount. I hate when people "outlaw" sweets! My parents did this to me and it is a great way to have your children grow up to be sugar obsessed. |
| Yes , it's healthier |
| Many sugar free foods really aren't good for you, especially considering the sugar substitutes. |
| No, we don't have them in the house. They have a funny aftertaste so I don't particularly enjoy them anyway. |

Nope - We also do not even purchase anything with artificial sweeteners. We keep the chemicals in this house to a bare minimum (avoiding dye's as well if possible).
Now we in no way skip out on the sweets (mommy has a big sweet tooth), but they normally consist of a cookie, brownie, some ice cream, usually all served with some fruit. |
I agree. I do most of our baking so DD helps me make REAL sugar treats. I also strive to avoid HFCS whenever possible. If it has HFCS, we don't buy it. Now, if she is given it at a bday party I don't freak but prefer she get treats made with real ingredients not chemicals. She only gets "dessert" with lunch and occasionally at dinner. |
