I think that you may be confusing the Cogat and NNAT with the WISC. The score generated by the Cogat and NNAT is not an IQ score. Scores generated by the WISC are IQ scores. The maximum score on any of the three is 160, so there are no "over 160's" A vast majority of kids in AAP have never had an IQ test. |
+1 Not to mention, above 140's and especially 150's WISC FSIQ scores are VERY rare. I wonder if people are referring to a WISC subscore of that high or a modified version of IQ score known as GAI, dropping certain subscores to raise IQ. |
And 140+ WPPSI scores are much more common than 140+ WISC scores. |
| 145+ WISC and DD is much happier in AAP than in the regular program. Like a previous poster said, DD doesn't have to study for things, and the school work for the most part comes very easy. But she finally has to put forth some effort becuase there is actually more schoolwork to keep her busy and it is more interesting to her. Our school regroups the kids for math, so that has been very helpful, as there in a real peer group to advance with her. |
