Get your point, but it is amazing that all these celebrities can give an unscripted interview, and a potential VP cannot.

That is a very good point, Zumbamama!

Yes, it is truly amazing that celebrities who spend a lot of time in front of a camera would feel comfortable sharing their views in front of that same camera ...

And anyway, just because they are celebrities, doesn't mean they are politically clueless....how many celebrities became politicians? And sorry, you can't lump Tom Cruise in the same category as Matt Damon. AND there are plenty of politicians who have less brains than the dumbest celebrity out there.

I assume you passed on Fred Thompson's speech during the RNC?

I guess Governor Schwarzenegger comes from the intellectual fringes?

Two words for you: Ronald Reagan.

Actually, I DID pass on Fred Thompson's speech and it still rather baffles me that we have a Governator.

Gosh, how did I forget about him? True, I've tried, but I'm surprised that I succeeded.

Can we say PROVINCIAL?

Can we understand the concept of OVERLY-INCLUSIVE?

Oh, that's right. I'm responding to some shit-kicker in VA.

Let's go slow: Hollywood is, indeed, one of the most intellectual, artistic, creative, and diverse places in this country. I know Hollyood very, very well.

And, um, how many Academy-Award-Winning Screenplays have you written? While still in your 20s, I might add? Matt Damon is no Tom Cruise, you ignorant ass.

And what is so special about Matt Damon except that he says pretty much what sums up a typical Dem. voter?
Ok, he's rich and famous and a movie star. Glad he's enjoying freedom of speech by voicing his opinion, but other than that...I really don't see why everyone is so elated about this.
There was already a whole post on Bill Maher. Now a post for Damon.

Jsteele writes eloquently too (and posts a Dem opinion) so should we all gaggle over him/her too?

You're right. Matt Damon probably isn't like "real" Americans. He did attend Harvard after all. So he probably knows the difference between their, they're, and there.

Seems to me they're more in touch than many politicians, like the "maverick" who has been married into the Cindy Hensly McCain $100 million fortune and the Dubya who was born into the Bush dynasty.
