I'm the 16:58 poster and I've never had any negative issue with the nursing staff who take BP, etc. All have been quite friendly in my experience.

I didn't mean to say they were unfriendly (and I have always been nice to them), but compared to my experience at other practices, I found the nurses at GW to be kind of cold and rushed. Just lacking in personal warmth. The front desk staff is ok (better than what you get in other DC practices), but again, my experience was much better when I went out to doctors in the suburbs.

You can choose to see the same doctor at every prenatal appointment or you can rotate through the practice if you want. PPs are right that there is no guarantee that your doctor will be the one there when you deliver (although they'll try). In my first pregnancy I saw the same doctor every time until the very end, when I chose to meet a few others, but it was my primary doctor who happened to deliver my son. I liked the others, though. Now I feel comfortable enough with the practice to see my primary doctor at every prenatal appointment but still feel okay if he is not the one who ultimately delivers my daughter.
